Pearl Care
Love the Pearls Every Day!
Enjoy your pearls frequently because pearls want to be with you! To preserve your pearls' radiance, always put on your pearls as a final touch, after applying makeup, hair products and/or perfume. (Note: Let beauty products dry/settle before they come into contact with your pearls.)
Protect your pearls' luster by wiping them gently with a soft cloth before returning your pearls to their home for storage.
Pearls are natural organic gems and may be damaged by jewelry cleaners that contain ammonia and other chemicals. If your pearls come into contact with substances such as fruit juices, vinegar, cleaners, chemicals and/or detergents, immediately wipe them off with a damp cloth.
CLEANING
Daily care: Before wearing your pearls, gently wipe your pearls with a soft cloth. After wearing them and before returning your pearls to their home for storage, gently wipe your pearls with a soft cloth.
Maintenance: If further cleaning is required, dampen a soft cloth with a mild liquid soap and water mix (like Ivory dishwashing liquid soap), gently wipe your pearls with the damp cloth. (Repeat process if needed.)
PEARL JEWELRY STORAGE
Although pearls are resilient, they are comprised of 2-4% water and prone to scratches, especially if they brush against much harder gemstones like a diamond. To protect your pearl jewelry from dehydration and/or scratches, store your pearl jewelry separately in organza or suede pouches, a silk handkerchief and/or individually lined jewelry box compartments. (Do not use plastic jewelry bags to store individual pieces. Some plastic emits a chemical that might deteriorate the surface of the pearl after time.)
Please note: Never store pearl jewelry in a hot, dry, bright and/or sealed place for an extended period of time.
